GENERAL.JROC Archery Program is designed to provide an Archery program that affords Cadets theopportunity to focus on learning a skill, developing self-control, discipline, patience, andexperience some of life’s lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life.Overbrook High School Army JROTC will host the 2026 Panther Battalion Archery TeamSports Competition on 21 March 2026. There will be awards for the top three teams, the topthree archers, the Top Overall Team and Top Overall Competitor (individual archer). YouMUST submit at least 1 Archery Team and 1 Competitor (individual archer) to qualify for theOverall status.2. EVENT SPECIFICS. The details of the 2026 Panther Battalion Archery Sports Competitionare shown below:COMPETITION NOTES:OVERALL: Archery will be scored as separate competitions so you may enter either oneinstead of both, if you wish. Scores from schools that enter both competitions will beautomatically entered into the “Overall” division.Archery Team consists of a 6-person mixed-gender team. (minimum of 2 opposite genderCadets). EVENT SUMMARY. All competition activities will be conducted IAW 2nd BrigadeStanding Operating Procedures and NASP Standards.In the matchplay phase, archers compete in best-of-five sets. [Matchplay in archery is ahead-to-head competition where archers compete in best-of-five sets until a winner isdetermined.] The winner of each match advances to the next round, while the loser iseliminated. [A set is a predetermined number of arrows shot by an archer or a team] and theones with a better aggregate score earn two points for winning a set. Morrell 80cmNASP Paper Target Faces may be placed over the target bail for easier scoring.Match Rules1. General1. No more than two competitors may shoot at each target at one time.2. When more than one archer is shooting at the same target, the arrows must beidentifiable to each archer by either color or other markings.2. Shooting DistanceArchers will shoot straddling a shooting line marked at 10 meters and 15 metersfrom the targets.3. PracticeThere will be one practice end at 10 meters and one at 15 meters, prior toshooting for score at each distance.4. Scoring1. Archers will shoot 1 end of 5 arrows for practice and 3 ends of 5 arrows for scorefrom 10 meters and 1 end of 5 arrows for practice and 3 ends of 5 arrows forscore at 15 meters for a total of 30 scoring arrows, 10 ring scoring, with a total of300 points possible.2. Archers sharing a target will score each other’s targets and the archer will verifytheir score by initialing or checking a box next to the score. An arrow will be scored according to the position of the shaft on the target face. Ifthe shaft touches the line, the archer receives the higher score.4. Neither arrow nor the target face should be touched until all the arrows on thattarget face have been recorded. (Any discrepancies will be resolved with theshooters and a lane judge/instructor)3.
